The Republican Public Social Center has won the fifth presidential grant, RIA Dagestan reports.
Head of the center Karine Gusayeva said that they will launch the program for support of orphans and children from low-income families. There are over 3,000 children in orphan homes in Dagestan. The project will help over 130 children.
The center plans to support the elderly and handicapped. Dagestan has 4 facilities for such people, the largest one in Makhachkala.
Realization of the project will need two stages. The first stage will have volunteers engaged in social rehabilitation activities at the children’s center in Kaspiysk and a center in Makhachkala.
The second stages involves support for veterans of labour and war, children.
