The Moscow City Court has sentenced Ahmedpashi Aydayev, the murderer of Yuri Volvok, a football fan, at Chistiye Prudy in Moscow, to 17 years imprisonment, Interfax reports.

The criminal will be jailed at a maximum security penal colony. Bekhan Ibragimov, another person involved in the case and charged with hooliganism, will spend 6 years in a standard regime penal colony.

Aydayev’s lawyer, Absupunyan Gaytayev, says he will appeal the decision. Ibragimov’s lawyer also plans to appeal the sentence.

Relatives of the sentenced men almost started a fight. They shouted out “Allah akbar”, followed by rude responses from supporters of the prosecution. Security personnel stopped them from starting a brawl.
