Russia mulling more aid for quake-hit Turkey

Russia plans to send more humanitarian aid to quake-hit Turkey, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said on Thursday, The Voice of Russia reports.

He recalled that in late October, the Russian Emergencies Ministry’ planes delivered 370 tents for residents of Turkey’s affected areas, including the city of Erzurum.

“The issue of sending more such tents to Turkey in the near future is on the table,” Lukashevich said.

More than 500 people have already been confirmed dead in the 7,2-magnitude earthquake that devastated southeast Turkey on October 23.
