Armenian teachers to work in Turkey

Armenian teachers will work in Turkey. The head of the Turkish
University Erdjiyesh said that their university will open departments
of Armenian and Hebrew languages in the next academic year, Bagiun
newspaper reports. The university has invited two Armenian teachers,
Armenia Today reports.


The university head said that the Council on Higher Education has
already issued a license to open the new divisions at the Philology
Department. 60 students will start studies this autumn. The university
had only one Armenian language teacher and negotiations with the
Armenian patriarchy produced no results. The State University of
Yerevan agreed to send two teachers.


The university plans to invite teachers from Greece and Israel to
teach Hebrew and is also developing a student exchange program with
Armenia and Israel.


The university’s authorities believe that their graduates will have no
employment problems. The university also plans to teach Hindi, Urdu,
Arabic and Farsi.
