Monument to Rasul Gamzatov proposed in Moscow

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin supports the idea of building a monument to Dagestani poet Rasul Gamzatov, RIA Novosti reports. 

The idea was expressed by the poet's nephew, Gamzat Gamzatov, who is the head of the Rasul Gamzatov Foundation.

The poet died in the Dagestani capital of Makhachkala in 2003.
