Sergey Chenchik, Chief of the Main Directorate of the Interior Ministry in the North Caucasian Federal District, has presented the opening of the Public Council, RIA Novosti reports.
The Public Council consists of 16 members, including political and religious figures, scientists, officials of public organizations and Cossacks.
The new structure consists of development and observation of state programs and public initiatives on the most topical issues related to the Interior Ministry, social support of police staff and retired officers, cooperation with journalists.
