Police killed Biaslan Gochiyev, a militant leader in Karachay-Cherkessia, and three of his accomplices on Wednesday, the National Counter-Terrorism Committee said on Thursday.
The militant leader was encountered at the Kumysh Village of Karachayevsky District at 8.45 pm on December 7. The criminals opened fired after being stopped. An unidentified bomb went off. All militants died. The National Counter-Terrorism Committee says that the criminals planned a series of attacks, with involvement of a suicide bomber.
