Georgia's Maestro TV Company to hold protests

Journalists of the Maestro TV Company in Georgia will hold protests at the first microdistrict of Nutsubidze near a Tbilisi TV office at 4 pm on Friday, Trend reports.


The company says that the government has recently taken certain measures to make its work complicated. The Main Directorate of the Interior Ministry stated on December 7, 2011, that Erosi Kitsmarishvili, founder of the Rustavskaya Company for Media Management, should leave the territory of Maestro immediately. But the order has not been fulfilled yet. Owners of Maestro are not allowed to operate until the court passes a decision of Kitsmarishvili’s company.


Journalists say that the authorities violating freedom of press.


Erosi Kitsmarishvili is currently using the building of Maestro TV and broadcasting Euronews from a satellite. Maestro is broadcasting via cable TV.
