The emergency situation in the city of Janaozen in Kazakhstan may be resolved earlier than January 5, Kazakh Foreign Minister Yerzhan Kazykhanov said, RIA Novosti reports.
Janaozen experienced mass disorders on December 16, in which 14 people died and dozens were injured. 46 buildings were set on fire. Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev introduced a state of emergency on December 17. The authorities say that the situation is under control.
