LUKOIL to reanimate Stavrolen

LUKOIL, Russia’s largest oil company, will clear damage from the fire at the Stavrolen petrochemical facility that happened on December 15. The fire ended on December 17, 2011, the company reports.


The ecological condition in Budennovsk is normal. The Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resource Usage is monitoring the area. Ecological measurements are taken once in every 20 minutes.


The Federal Environmental, Engineering & Nuclear Supervision Agency is supervising the commission for investigating the fire causes. LUKOIL Vice-President Vladimir Nekrasov arrived to the area on Saturday.
He said that there is no threat to the area and the local population.


Stavrolen is a town-forming chemical enterprise, part of the LUKOIL-Neftekhim Group.
