Armenia plans to shift its time zone one point westward in the next 1-2 years, Minister for Economy Tigran Davtyan said at a press conference on Tuesday, News Armenia reports.
Davtyan clarified that Armenia would have a closer time zone to Moscow and European zones, benefitting business, tourism and ordinary civilians.
Experts say that Armenia is in the wrong time zone. The problem can be solved in two stages. Davtyan noted that they also plan to stop revert time in the winter.
Armenia has a +4 different with the Greenwich time zone, +3 with European states, +9 with the east coast of the US, +12 with the west coast.
