The Vice-Premier of the Russian Federation and Plenipotentiary Envoy of the President to the North Caucasian Federal District, Alexander Khloponin, sent New Year greetings to the residents of the NCFD.
In his address, Mr Khloponin stressed that “this year we’ve achieved some serious progress in restoring peace and stability in the Caucasus and have a right to be proud.” The Vice-Premier listed a number of major economic and construction projects (such as resort and airport construction) initiated in the NCFD this year that would allow healthy development of small business and ensure a solid basis for civic society establishments.
Mr Khloponin also mentioned that a great deal of progress was achieved in the field of inter-cultural and inter-ethnic dialogue. Of course, there were some difficulties and even failures, but a positive trend prevailed, Mr Khloponin claimed.
The Plenipotentiary Envoy wished all Russian citizens health, success and prosperity in the new year and expressed his hope that the coming year will bring more reasons for joy to the residents of the NCFD.
