The Armenian Apostolic Church is marking Christmas today. The celebrations started with the Eve of Epiphany on the evening of January 5th, lasting until midnight. The Holy Liturgy is served.
Another Holy Liturgy starts on January 6, followed by the blessing of water in commemoration of Jesus' Baptism, the official website of the Ararat Eparchy reports.
Holy Oil is added to the water, blessed with prayers. All believers bring some water home, it is believed to have special curing abilities.
