The outbreak of African swine flu in the Timashevsky District resulted in 15,200 pigs killed to prevent the disease from spreading, Yuga.ru reports.
A total of 30,736 pigs will be killed in the area, 7,300 in the first risk zone will be burnt or processed, 462 will be killed in the private sector of the Industrialny Village.
The outbreak was registered at the Industrialny breading farm of the Timashevsky District. 21 police officers were mobilized in the area. 6 stationary posts were set.
Special police groups are controlling trade points in the Krasnodar Territory. They are to prevent sales of ham from the Timashevsky District, ITAR-TASS reports.
Special groups will check documents and origin of products in the Krasnodar Territory. Raids will be organized at markets and along roads where some farmers would try to sell meat. Governor of the Krasnodar Territory Alexander Tkachyov said on Twitter that some people attempted to sell infected meat.
The governor plans to hold a session of the regional Security Council to prevent the African swine flu from spreading. A working group of the Russian Agricultural Ministry will attend it. The group consists of Deputy Minister Shamil Vakhitov, specialists of the ministry, scientists from various institutes of Russia.
