Three militants killed in the Khasavyurt District of Dagestan on the night of Thursday-Friday have been identified as members of a local gang, RIA Novosti reports.
Two of them are twins, Sabit and Said Akayevs, born in 1986. The Akayev’s joined the militants in June 2011, according to information of the National Counter-Terrorism Committee. They joined the so-called Khasavyurt Gang.
The militants were involved in arsons of stores, racket of businessmen, murder of Ahmed Osmanov on November 14, 2011, an assistant imam of the Aksay Village of Khasavyurt District, and murder of a police officer on October 14, 2011.
The militants were found in a forest not far from the Novo-Gadari Village of the Kizilyurt District. No police officers were injured. Three AKMs and a large quantity of ammo was found at the scene.
