Trans-Caucasian motorway which was closed for the traffic from 3 am Moscow time of Saturday because of the danger of rockfall to the road under advice of anti-avalanche service is again open for the traffic form 10.30 am Moscow time on Saturday – has reported to RIA Novosti the Head of the press service of EMERCOM of North Ossetia Juliya Starchenko.
Trans-Caucasian motorway is the only direct connection between Russia and South Ossetia.
“During the night several rockfalls which are already cleared by the officers of road service, have fallen on the road. Experts on the avalanches have examined the flanks of the hill along the motorway and gave a conclusion that the motorway is safe and it can be opened for the traffic” – said Starchenko.
At the same time strength and resources of the Republican Emergency Department, road and anti-avalanche services are perfectly ready – added the press service.
