Public transport strike ends in Nalchik

Drivers of public transport in Nalchik have ended their two-week strike, Chief Engineer Albert Birmamitov said, RIA Novosti reports.

Drivers and staff of Nalchikautobustrans started the strike on January 10, 2012, demanding resignation of their director and wages. Additional private buses were hired.

54 buses have started work on city streets today and 5 started inter-city transport service. Several more buses are being repaired.

One of the strikers said that the strike may start again because the director has not been fired yet.
