Azerbaijan marks Youth Day

Azerbaijan is marking on Thursday Youth Day, which was established by Heydar Aliyev on February 2, 1997, to hold the 1st Forum of Azerbaijani Youth, 1news.az reports.

Azerbaijan has over 200 independent youth organizations registered by the Justice Ministry. Intigam Babayev, Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports, said today that youth project will gain special support in 2012. It is significant for the Azerbaijani state program for youth for 2011-2012.

The Youth Fund will assist in the initiative. The fund will have own budget to support strategic youth projects, science and art development, improvement of international relations and realization of global youth projects.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on July 7, 2011, approving the state youth program for 2011-2015, which will receive 20.1 million manats.

The Azerbaijani Justice Ministry allows young law specialists to request consultations on any issues since early February. Every second staff member of the Azerbaijani justice system and every third member of the ministry is a young worker. 82% of the justice system used to be taken by young specialists.
