Azerbaijani officers have arrested suspects involved in a group organizing terrorist attacks against foreigners using weapons and explosives, AzTV reports.
The suspects were gathering information under supervision of Iranian special organization Sepah, they purchased numerous weapons and large supply of explosives.
An organized group was formed by a Sepah member Gamid and a branch of Hisbollah called Mugavimat, headed by Haji Abbas, to organize a terrorist attack in Azerbaijan.
Earlier reports said that a group of suspects was detained in January 2012 for planning assassination of foreigners, mainly Israeli citizens, working in social organizations. Azerbaijani intelligence services said that an Iranian intelligence officer ordered a relative in August 2011 to kill foreign public figures in Baku and offered to pay $150,000 for the service.
Israel accused Tehran of organizing terrorist attacks in Dheli, Tbilisi and Bangkok in mid-February 2012.
