According to the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the
International Ecological Regional Conference on ‘Basics of determining
the ecological, economic and cultural advantages of ecotourism
development’ and the Second Meeting of Experts on ecotourism of
members of the Economic Cooperation Organization will be held on June
10-12, Trend reports.
The following issues will be discussed: ‘Ecotourism potential of the
National Parks of Azerbaijan’, ‘The role of ecotourism in relations
between nature and society and international experience in this
sphere’, ‘Managing ecotourism activities in the National Parks’, ‘The
role of ecotourism in modern sustainable tourism’, ‘The ecotourism
potential of the Nagorno-Shirvan economic-geographic region of
Azerbaijan’, ‘Development of ecotourism in Shirvan National Park:
prospects and problems’, ‘Basic principles of realizing the activities
of sustainable ecotourism on the territory of Shirvan National Park’,
‘Prospects for developing ecotourism in the Zagatalskiy region’,
‘Developing Azerbaijani agroecotourism’ (based in the village of
Chayly on the Absheron peninsula), and ‘Presentation of one specific
ecotourism product’.
On June 12th the participants of the conference will visit Shirvan
National Park.
