Dmitry Pavlyuchenkov, former head of the section for operative search of the Main Police Directorate of Moscow, suspected of killing journalist Anna Politkovskaya, said that Chechen separatist Ahmed Zakayev and businessman Boris Berezovsky may be responsible for the murder, Kommersant reports.
Pavlyuchenkov believes that the murder was a result of conflict between the three in London. Anna Stavitskaya, a lawyer, does not know of Pavlyuchenkov’s assumptions.
Anna Politkovskaya, an observer from Novaya Gazeta was murdered in Moscow in October 2006.
