  In Moscow will be celebrated the birthday of Prophet Muhammad

Celebration of the biggest Muslim festivals - the birthday of Prophet Mohammad (Mawlid an-Nabi) - will be held on Sunday in Moscow, according to the communication by Mufti Council of Russia received by RIA Novosti.
The center of the celebration of Mawlid an-Nabi in Moscow will be a hotel "Cosmos", where at 15.00 Moscow time, where the Chairman of the Mufti Council of Russia Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin  will welcomes the participants of celebrations. Then will be read out the greetings from the highest officials of the state.

Next in the program will be "an unique laser show, reading  of the Koran, the performance of religious songs by professional performers, performances by famous artists from different regions of Russia.

In particular, the People's Artist of Russia and Tatarstan Renat Ibragimov  will read the poem by  Assistant Mayor of Moscow, Nikolai Pereyaslov, winning the 4 th All-Russia poetry contest "The Prophet Muhammad - a favour for the worlds."

Among the guests of the festival will be raffle a trip for a small pilgrimage to Mecca.

In the celebrations will also take part the Honoured coach of the Soviet Union and tennis-player, Shamil Tarpishchev, famous Russian football coach Haji Hajiyev, TV presenter, Maksim Shevchenko, academician of RAMS, a heart surgeon Renat Akchurin, the deputies of the State Duma, Federation Council members, ambassadors, politicians and other prominent figures of politics, science, culture and sports.

The celebration in Moscow has been organized by the Council of muftis of Russia, with the support of the Committee on Connections with Religious Organizations of Moscow Institute of Oriental Studies, Institute of Asia and Africa, Lomonosov Moscow State University and several other scientific and public organizations.
