One police officer died and over 20 were injured during unsanctioned rallies to mark Nowruz, 1news.az reports.
The most violent brawls happened at the Sirnak, Hakkari and Yukselyov Provinces. The Turkish government prohibited marking of Nowruz on any day except March 21. Most protests were held in southern parts of the country, some were seen in Istanbul and Antalya.
The police used tear gas. Gunshots at police officers were seen in the Sirnak Province. A bomb with 2 kg of explosives and projectiles was found at Van.
