The fashion house Firdaws (“Gardens of Paradise”), founded by the wife of
Chechen head Ramzan Kadyrov, held its first fashion show outside Russia, in
Dubai, RIA-Novosti reports.
The collection "Lady Chechnya" included 70 outfits, all of them following
the Islamic traditional clothing pattern for women, including the head
scarves. However, the models did not veil their faces, in line with
traditions of both Chechnya and the United Arab Emirates.
Firdaws has another show scheduled in Saudi Arabia and plans to open stores
in Dubai and unspecified other localities abroad, the report said.
The wife of Ramzan Kadyrov is 31 years old and has seven children. She
opened the Firdaws exhibition in the Chechen capital Grozny in 2009. The "Lady
Chechnya" collection was created by a team of two Chechen designers.
