Investigation of Moscow subway blast continues

Moscow is commemorating the victims of blasts at the Lubyanka and Park Kultury Subway Stations on March 29th 2010. People are bringing flowers and photos of their relatives and lighting candles, Interfax reports.


The blasts first hit the Lubyanka station, then the Park Kultury station in the space of 40 minutes. 40 people died and 160 were injured by suicide bombers.


Vladimir Markin, spokesman of the Russian Investigative Committee, said that they were searching for organizers of the terrorist attack 2 years ago, ITAR-TASS reports.


He said that the attack was organized by Magomedali Bagabov, a terrorist leader from Dagestan. He formed the Novokosteksky Jamaat in February 2010, consisting of Gaji Aliyev, Ahmed Rabadanov, Ali Isagajiyev, Shamil Magomednabiyev (Usman), Murad Shashayev (Albara), Maryam Sharipova and Janet Abdullayeva. Some of the most active of them have been killed. Sharipova and Abdullayeva activated the bombs.


The terrorists were involved in attacks on police officers and public figures in Dagestan in 2008-2010.


Over 500 people have been questioned, 326 expertises were held, over 40 searches were organized. The case consists of 110 volumes. 168 people are complainants in the case.
