Chechnya is skeptical about the conspiracy against Ahmed Zakayev announced by British intelligence services, press secretary of theChechen leader Alvi Karimov said, Interfax reports.
Karimov noted that Zakayev was of no interest to Russia. He is neither a politicians, nor a separatist leader.
Chechen Senator Ziyad Sabsabi said that the assassination plot against Ahmed Zakayev, an emissary of Chechen separatists, is nothing more than an attempt for attention, RIA Novosti reports.
Sunday Telegraph said on Sunday that British intelligence services have information on plans to assassinate Zakayev, who is on the Russian wanted list for grave crimes. The UK believes that Chechen Leader Ramzan Kadyrov may be behind the plot.
