Iranian inflation 'to reach 23.6% this year'

The Economist said that inflation in Iran will reach 23.6% in its year from March 21, 2012, to March 20, 2013, Iran News reports.

Inflation was at 10.1% two years ago and 21.2% a year ago. The reason for higher inflation is the ban for subsidies that caused higher prices for fuel, electricity and flour.

Inflation next year is expected at 21%, then it will drop to 17.6% the year after. Inflation will drop to 16.3% from March 21, 2015, to March 20, 2016, then to 16.3% the following year.
