Mehriban Aliyeva declared "First Lady of the Year" by Turkish magazine

 

Mehriban Aliyeva, the First Lady of Azerbaijan, the President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, has become a winner in the "First Lady of the Year" category as a result of annual survey of Turkish authoritative monthly Ekovitrin magazine for 2011, Trend reports.

 

Voting was conducted on 34 categories among 102 candidates for two months. The jury determined three candidates in each category, for whom the readers then voted.

 

Winners of the magazine's other categories include Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu and Mayor of London Boris Johnson.

 

Over 250,000 respondents participated in polls.
