The Armenian Apostolic Church in Moldova intends to reclaim territories belonging to the church that were illegally sold several years ago, and then resold.
The head of the press service of the Office of the Holy Echmiadzin of the Armenian Church, Vahram Melikyan, told News.am that in Chisinau shortly after Moldova gained independence, the head of the Armenian community concluded an illegal deal to sell church buildings, which were later resold. Among the buildings were educational institutions, including historic buildings of Armenian schools. As Melikyan said, today these buildings are under threat of demolition.
