Armenia had 19,569 people born in the first quarter of 2012. The rate dropped by 5.7% compared with the same period in 2011. It is the lowest figure in the last 4 years, Tert.am reports.
The death rate increased to 17,953, the highest level in the last 10 years. The rate keeps increasing annually.
In other words, the birth rate is dropping, while the death rate is increasing. The processes were caused by high migration activity due to the socio-economic and moral-psychological condition of the country.
