Armenian apricots suffer from fungus

Apricot trees in the Ararat Valley of Armenia are suffering from a fungus, it was announced by Grach Berberyan, Chairman of the Agrarian Farmers' Union of Armenia, Tert.am reports.

The fungus spreads via wind and water. Rainy weather worsens the situation. Berberyan suggests air sprinkling of trees.

Armenia produced about 20,000 tons of apricots in 2011.
