Staff of children’s libraries, state music schools, conservatories and music centers will start wearing national costumes in Turkmenistan in April, CA-News reports.
The initiative belongs to Turkmen Minister for Culture Guncha Mamedova. Music teachers protested against the idea, because national costumes have long sleeves making playing musical instruments complicated. They were recommended to sign resignation notes.
Some Russian-language specialists were recommended to leave jobs if they refuse to wear Turkmen national costumes.
