25 people still in intense treatment in Armenia after balloon explosions

25 people are still in intense treatment at Yerevan medical centers after balloon explosions at Republic Square during a meeting of the ruling Republican Party of President Serzh Sargsyan, NEWS.am reports.

76 people were being treated according to reports at 7.30 am on May 5. Earlier reports said 154 people requested medical aid. Armenian Healthcare Minister Arutyun Kushkyan said that four of them were in serious condition, 12 in medium condition, the rest should be discharged in 1-2 days.

The tragedy happened at Republic Square in the center of Yerevan. Gas balloons on the stage exploded, and burning rubber started flying all over. Most of the people injured were close to the stage.
