The Investigation Committee of the Russian Prosecutor General's Office is investigating the suspected suicide of head of the Tuapse Transport Police, Vasily Gavrilov, who according to preliminary information hanged himself in his own house on Saturday night, the deputy of the head of the city investigation department said on Monday, RIA Novosti reports.
“We are already investigating this matter,” he said. A regional law-enforcement source of the agency reported that some time before a suit was opened in which Gavrilov was accused of the concealment of a crime. According to the source’s information, the head of the Transport Police ordered an officer “to hide from the records a robbery that was committed against a woman.”
