All middle schools and nurseries in Azerbaijan's Zagatala District have been temporarily closed today, Trend cites Elman Ramazanov, Deputy Chief Executive of the district and Chairman of the Commission for Emergencies, as saying.
The Education Ministry approved the initiative, he says. Earthquakes cause more damage to education centers every day. 47 out of 61 schools, two sports halls and 28 pre-schools are in bad condition.
A 7-point earthquake happened in the Zagatal District on May 7. 8 more were registered the same day. About 3,000 buildings, 124 social facilities were destroyed or damaged.
Three earthquakes were registered yesterday.
The Zagatala District is located 411 km north-west of Baku.
