Terrorist involved in Vladikavkaz market blast sentenced to 16 years

Vakha Khashagulgov has been sentenced to 16 years imprisonment today for involvement in the blast at the Vladikavkaz market in September 2010, RIA Novosti cites Vladimir Markin, a spokesman for the Russian Investigative Committee, as saying.

The blast killed 19 people and injured 233, causing material damage of 21 million rubles.

Khashagulov was sentenced for terrorism, banditry, involvement in an illegal armed formation, attacking police officers, illegal production and trafficking of weapons and purposeful property damage.

The court demanded the terrorist pay 150,000 rubles in compensation as well.

The Supreme Court of North Ossetia sentenced Ali Daurbekov to 24 years imprisonment for organizing the Vladikavkaz market blast.
