Syrian rebels have kidnapped at least 13 Lebanese Shiite pilgrims at Aleppo, RIA Novosti reports.
The pilgrims were on their way to Iran. Their relatives have blocked several roads. The incident happened two days after Lebanese troops shot a Sunni imam for criticizing the Syrian regime. Residents of Akkar started a mass protest.
Clashes between Sunnis supporting the rebels and Shiites supporting Syrian President Bashar al-Assad have become more frequent lately.
