Baku Higher Petroleum School cooperates in staff training with UK

The Baku Higher Petroleum School and the Herior-Watt University in the UK have signed an agreement on the basic principles of organizing specialist training, 1news.az reports.

The document was signed in Baku on May 24. Signatures were put by the head of the Baku Higher Petroleum School Elmar Hasymov and head of the Heriot-Watt University Steve Chapman. Diplomas will be granted for students studying in 2012-2017.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev ordered formation of the Baku Higher Petroleum School within the framework of the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) on November 29, 2011.

The school trains high-skilled specialists for petroleum industry according to international standards using advanced technology. The higher school will cooperate with foreign science and education centers.

Studies at the Baku Higher Petroleum School will start in September 2012 in Azerbaijani and English languages.
