Technical details of new Turkish mosque construction specified in Azerbaijan

The process of clarifying the technical details for construction of a Turkish mosque is being implemented in Azerbaijan, the head of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations, Elshad Iskandarov, told media today, Trend informs.

"After this process is over, the new mosque will be built and commissioned in a short time," he said.

He said that the mosque to be built in Baku will become a symbol of friendship between the two fraternal countries - Azerbaijan and Turkey.

He added that this idea is an initiative of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

"This issue is being discussed with the Turkish side," he said. "The project is being implemented on the parties' agreement. The Turkish side appreciated this project. A site for construction was allotted according to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's order. The mosque will become a gift to the Turkish people."
