Turkish Red Crescent Society sends humanitarian aid for Kyrgyz refugees

The Turkish Red Crescent Society has sent 40 tons of humanitarian aid, including food and personal hygiene provisions, for refugees from Kyrgyzstan, Trend reports.
A plane carrying humanitarian aid arrived in Andijan airport on Wednesday night. As previously reported, international organizations, including organizations within the UN structure, governments and government agencies of several countries, companies and organizations, as well as Uzbek citizens, have been sending humanitarian assistance to refugees who found asylum in Uzbekistan as a result of the tragic events in southern Kyrgyzstan.
Since the beginning of the unrest in southern Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan has received nearly 100,000 refugees, most of them women, children and the elderly. The refugees from the neighbouring republic are living in tent camps and provided with food, psychological and medical help.
