Azerbaijan has made important steps towards the creation of a professional public service, the Presidential Administration's socio-political department head Ali Hasanov said, Trend reports.
"Since 2001, Azerbaijan has entered a phase of developing public services. An army of Azerbaijani professional civil service employees has been formed. Azerbaijan is carrying out important measures to create a civil service system and prepare professional public servants," Ali Hasanov said.
June 23 was declared a professional holiday for civil service employees by decree of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on May 25, 2006.
The country is implementing a state policy to improve the standards of staff working in public service, " Ali Hasanov said.
"Educating the younger generation, increasing the professionalism of civil servants and achieving a standard that meets the requirements of our society, these are the main areas of the implemented policy",
