Project of Baku development until 2030

The Azerbaijani state committee for urban planning and architecture presented a conceptual scheme for the development of Greater Baku until 2030, ABC reports.According to the committee, by 2030 the area of Baku will be 231 thousand hectares, Sumgait will cover 8 thousand hectares and the Apsheron district 32 thousand hectares.  Baku will get a resort zone of 300 hectares that will include the coastal islands. Baku's sea boulevard will stretch for 33 km.Sporting facilities will occupy an area of 700 hectares. University campuses will also get 700 hectares, parks 1600 hectares, cultural infrastructure 1500 hectares and 1400 hectares for low-rise housing.
