Russian History Society calls on Putin to chair the organization

The Russian History Society called upon President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday to chair the organization, RIA Novosti reports.

"I will ask the President to head the society," the chair of the organizing committee, the speaker of the State Duma, Sergey Naryshkin said.

The decision to establish the organization was made in 2011 during President Medvedev's meeting with Russian academicians.
