Azerbaijan’s Red Crescent to cooperate with International Organization for Migration

The Azerbaijani Red Crescent Society and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) signed a cooperation deal on Friday, Trend reports.

The sides will reduce risks of natural disasters and help people recover, cooperate in labour migration, combat human trafficking and collaborate in social and economic spheres.

The document was signed by the president of the Azerbaijani Red Crescent Society, Nowruz Aslanov, and acting head of the Azerbaijani office at the International Organization for Migration, Seykhan Aktoprak.

Aktoprak said that there are about 1 billion migrants all over the world, 214 million of whom are international migrants, while 740 million are forced migrants.
