A 5-point earthquake happened in Turkey’s Van last night, Trend reports.
The Van Province has been experiencing earthquakes since October 2011. A 7.2 earthquake happened on October 23. Several more quakes with a magnitude of 5.1-6.1 happened. Over 600 people died, 4,000 were injured. 2,262 buildings were destroyed.
Earthquakes in Turkey are common. Some of the greatest quakes happened in the Marmara Sea in 1999. They had amagnitude of 7.4. About 18,000 people died.
