Ingush Leader Yunus-Bek Yevkurov has awarded winners of the Russian Islamic Olympics for disciplines and the Arab language held last weekend, IslamNews reports.
Minister for Religion of Kuwait Fahd ad-Deyhani and heads of Russian Muslim higher education centers attended the competitions at the Russian Islamic University of Kazan on May 29-30. Awards were handed at the Ingush Islamic University in Malgobek.
Former Ingush Mufti Magomed Albogachiyev congratulated the winners as well.
The competition was attended by representatives of Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, Dagestan, Chechnya, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Mordovia, Karachay-Cherkessia, Moscow, Orenburg, Saratov, Ulyanovsk and Samara.
The nominations were “Islamic Law”, “Basics of Religion” and “the Arab language”. Zelimkhan Kotiyev won the first place for “Islamic Law”, Ahmed Shikiyev won the first place for “Basics of Religion”, Zelimkhan Gediyev won the second place for “the Arab language. Ahmed Shikiyev won the first place.
