Palestine denies Arafat exhumation

The Government of the Palestinian National Authority has denied information on plans to exhume its former leader Yasser Arafat, Newsland reports.

Only the commission investigating his death may permit exhumation.

Earlier reports said that President of the Palestinian National Authority Mahmoud Abbas ordered exhumation of Arafat due to suspicions that the latter had been poisoned by polonium.

Al Jazeera reported about a 9-month investigation on Tuesday.

Saeb Erekat, head of the Palestinian delegation for negotiations with Israel, urged formation of a commission to investigate Arafat’s death.
