Severe flooding kills 28 in South Russia

Severe flooding that has started in South Russia due to heavy rains has killed 28 people, the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations says in a statement, RIA Novosti reports.

The situation is extremely  tense in Gelendzhik, where 11 people have died and 320 been evacuated. The city has also lost power supply.

Russian Railways has recently announced the cancellation of several trains due to weather-related conditions.
