A police officer was killed by unidentified assailants at the Sunzhensky District of Chechnya, RIA Novosti reports.
The incident happened at the Sernovodskaya Village, near the border of Ingushetia. Police officers were searching for militants and were attacked from a forest. An officer of the Urus-Martanovsky traffic police died.
Searches for the militants continue.
