Migration Service starts work in Abkhazia

The Migration Service of Abkhazia, created in October 2009, is currently in its formative phase, RIA Novosti reports.
"We can't start signing permission documents until the "Law on foreign citizens in the Republic of Abkhazia" is adopted by the parliament," the head of the migration service, Vladimir Arshba, said.
The Abkhaz migration service works in close contact with the Russian service, where a department on consulting with their Abkhaz counterparts has been established.
The Abkhaz service has started developing a computer database. According the service's information, most of the foreign workers employed in Abkhazia are from the states of the Baltic region, Moldova, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.
